THE NUMBER MAGAZINE - Art Photo Expo presents “Femmes, je vous aime” at the Hotel Plaza Athénée Paris
Art Photo Expo Production is proud to present “Femmes, je vous aime” at the Hotel Plaza Athénée Paris. From February 24, 2019, until the end of April, the Cour Jardin of the Hotel Plaza Athénée will host a sale exhibition of “Femmes, je vous aime”, organized by Art Photo Expo Production.

Clearly inspired by Julien Clerc's song “Femmes, je vous aime”, this exhibition, as its title suggests, was created to honor women—all women. Tender, fatal, committed, fragile, iconic, or anonymous, women are at the forefront of today's world and, more than ever, are making their voices heard. However, artists have not waited until now to shine a light on women. Whether through their strength or fragility, a gaze, a smile, or a subtle detail, women’s femininity has been immortalized through painting, photography, and sculpture.
In parallel with Fashion Week and International Women’s Day, the Hotel Plaza Athénée Paris and Art Photo Expo have joined forces to create this exclusive sales exhibition.
From February 24 until the end of April, no fewer than 20 international contemporary artists will present their vision of femininity in the Cour Jardin, located at 25 Avenue Montaigne. The exhibition will be open to the public daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The renowned Cour Jardin, accompanied—of course—by Haute Couture, will feature photographs by some of the great names who have immortalized women in the world of fashion. Among them is Ormond Gigli (1925–), the celebrated American photographer known for his iconic “Girls in the Windows”. Taken in 1960, this daring photograph features 43 women posing in the windows of a New York City building scheduled for demolition the following day.

as well as Michel Comte, who photographed top models in the 1990s, breaking with the tradition of featuring movie stars on the covers of women’s magazines!
