About Winnie Denker:  

Originally from Denmark, Winnie Denker is one of the few photographers in the world to work with the 8x10" format. She arrived in Paris in 1958 and devoted herself to fashion and still life photography for nearly 20 years, until her ultimate encounter with the Eiffel Tower at the end of 1985. Until then, she devoted herself to architecture and world cultural heritage. She also painted portraits of famous people and artists, such as the painter de Kooning and Salvador Dali. In 1975, she moved to New York where she stayed for 11 years. She signed contacts for such famous clients as Vogue, Elle, Cartier, as well as for major international brands. At the same time, the photographer published her first works for "Women's Wear Daily" and "House and gardens". At the end of 1985, she returned to Paris, her favorite city... Informed by the new lighting of the Eiffel Tower, the artist fell in love with it immediately. This was the beginning of a long love story, which began on January 4, 1986, the date of the first photograph of the Iron Lady, and which continues today, almost 20 years later. From this passion were born two books: "La sentinelle de Paris" (co-written with Françoise Sagan), in 1989, for the first centenary of the Eiffel Tower (published by Robert Laffont) and "Paris, fêtes des lumières" (published by Images Magie), in 1993. A third collection of photographs was published in October 2004, "The Eiffel Tower" (Editions Mengès). Regularly published in the international press, Winnie Denker exhibits her work throughout the world. She has had more than twenty exhibitions throughout Spain, but also in Tokyo, Washington, New York, Florence, Paris, not to mention a permanent exhibition at the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg (Russia).
